Fall of the Roman Empire
1) Diocletian and later Constantine split the Empire in two to try and make it more manageable. Both chose to rule from the East half.
1) Diocletian and later Constantine split the Empire in two to try and make it more manageable. Both chose to rule from the East half.
2) Without the Emperor in the Western half of the Empire, the West half of the Roman Empire declines in importance.
3) Trying to solve the problems Emperors begin to limit peoples freedom.
4) Because of limits and restrictions on personal freedom les people support the Empire. This is especially true for the army as fewer and fewer Romans are willing to join.
5) As less people want to join the army Rome hires mercenaries, mainly from Germanic tribes, to protect the borders of the Roman Empire.
6) The German mercenaries paid to guard Rome’s frontiers allow other Germans to pass through.
7) The Germanic tribes could easily invade Rome.
8) The Huns migrated into Europe and begin taking land from the Germanic tribes.
9) Pressured by the Huns, Germanic Tribes abandon their land
and attempt to settle on Roman lands.
10) Rome falls to German invaders in 476 AD, ending the Western Roman Empire. The Eastern half will survive and become known as the Byzantine Empire.

Decline in Morals and Values:
Smoking, Violence, Partying, and sometimes untrustworthiness; like the army or some citizens.
Public Health/Environment:
Second hand smoke, lots of diseases,
Political Corruption:
People like to go out to clubs and parties, spending a lot of money on things which they should be spending on more important things, rather than on parties.
Unemployment:
Many people try to get a job/career. Some people become homeless since they have no job, or are trying to find one. Many farmers had lost their farms/land because of inflation and this had sent many citizens to be unemployed.
Urban decay:
Because the streets were invaded with violence and crime it had caused the cities to begin to decay.
Inferior Technology:
The Romans had spent so much time building aqueducts, roads, and buildings, that they're technology was not improved.
Military Spending:
Not much money was spent towards the military, money was usually spent on other things,

_________________________________________________________________________________What were the causes of the Protestant Reformation? -
Martin Luther protested against abuses.
Forces weakened the church.
Criticism towards the catholic church.
People had come to expect higher standards of conduct from priests.
Johann Tetzel rebuilt a St. Peter's Cathedral by selling indulgence.
Luther was troubled by Tetzel's tactics, in response he wrote 95 formal statements, and posted them on the door of the castle church in Wittenberg.
What were the effects of the Protestant Reformation? -
Merchants resented paying church taxes to Rome.
Spurred by these social, political, and economic forces, a new movement for religious reform began in Germany.
John Wycliffe of England and Jan Hus of Bohemia denied that the pope had the right to worldly power.

By posting the 95 statements, someone copied them and Luther became known all of Germany.
