Causes/Notes of the World War 1

Germany+Austria-Hungary+Ottoman vs. Great Britain+France+Russia (but then dropped out and the U.S. joined in) = World War 1
  • France and Germany both had increased the price armaments between the years 1870 - 1914, they were causes of the world war 1 because they increased they're the price of the armaments, and people spent the most amount of money in theses two countries in between these years (1870-1914). Over the period of time the money spent on these armaments had increased each year, the price never decreased. It increased the chance of war because the more they spent on the weapons/armaments, it had seemed to people that a war was about to begin, and since war was coming merchants who sold these armaments knew people would need to buy these weapons in order to go to war, obviously, so the merchants had increased the price of the armaments.
  • World War 1 was against the countries of Germany+Austria-Hungary+Ottoman Empire vs. Great Britain+France+Russia+U.S. and according to a Europe map Great Britain, Russia, and France were on a team; and were all members of the triple entente, while Germany and Austria-Hungary were members of the triple alliance. This helps give explanation of the world war 1 because all the countries that were together on the map by sectioning the different countries by the triple alliance and the triple entente, the two sections were the countries who were in the war.
  • The specific countries who caused the war was all of them, because they were all responsible on what they did, and the specific country was responsible for they're losses or for they're win. For example, Germany accepted that they were responsible for what they're allies did and what they're soldiers did, including the losses and damages during the war period. So was Great Britain, they were responsible and were part of the damages done.
  • Germany was a main part of the cause of the world war 1, because according to a document from the Germans, they protested saying that they were guilty on what they had done. Also the fact that Germany was one of the top countries who had increased they're prices of armaments by about the most increase out of the six countries. In the document that the Germans protested, it had said that they had confessed themselves on being alone guilty of the war. They also said in the document that they were responsible for all they're damages and everything that was caused by them. Another cause was since there were mobilization of Russia had been a huge impact because instead of dealing with the conflict of disease by the Russians, the military had decided to take it into they're own hands.
Notes:
  • Great Britain was very powerful, and had lots of land.
  • Germany does not officially become a country until 1870, many smaller kingdoms but not one whole Germany.
  • Immediately after Germany became a country, France went to war with them, so Germany took a chunk of land from France. They are not buddies at all.
  • Once France unites with Great Britain, they try to receive some of they're land, since they have so much.
  • Militarism is the belief that the military will solve all the problems, putting the conflict into the militaries hands. People put lots of money towards military
  • Entangling Alliance - Alliance's that get you stuck into something. Countries start worrying, and begin creating many alliance's.
  • Problems in the Balkans - people wanted to have they're own countries
  • Assassination on France Ferdinand - when he was in Austria-Hungary, a group called 'the Black Hand' shot Ferdinand and his wife. People became very mad. Austria demands war on Servia (slavek), then Servia mad an alliance with Russia, which causes Austria to declares war with Russia...etc. Germany and Austria-Hungary started the whole war between all the countries, they started war then included Russia and so on.
  • Trench Warfare - during war, soldiers would drop to the ground and begin to start to dig up dirt, and start piling the dirt in front of them for protection.
  • New Tech to World War 1 - Machine Gun, Tank, Airplanes (invented 10 years earlier), U-boats,   Gas (poisonous), Trench Warfare (fill sand bags and pile them for walls).
  • Dog fights -in airplanes
  • What to worry about: rats (at dead bodies, or eat you when your sleeping), trench foot, disease (of course)
  • Propaganda - when someone plays on your emotions in order to get you to do something/take an action of some sort (like commercials). They are usually found on posters, they try to scare you.
  • World War 1 was a total war, meaning: fought everywhere, involved civilians, fought in the streets, women worked in factories, victory gardens (start growing food on your land), ride bikes (save money for war). Civilians were included
  • Treaty of Versalles - Germany had to admit that the war was caused by them, and they had to pay back them for everything that they caused, like money and things caused by the war.
